Protecting What Makes Henley Special
The Henley Experience brings together a group of independent businesses connected by a shared appreciation for the River Thames, thoughtful hospitality, and more conscious ways of living and travelling.
From cleaner boating initiatives and refillable packaging to seasonal local sourcing and supporting the local economy, each business within the collaboration is committed to protecting the character and beauty of Henley for future generations.
The Brands Behind The Collaboration
Sarah Jones
Henley Naturals creates bath, body, and home fragrance products inspired by nature, wellbeing, and the rituals of slowing down.
My background combines more than 20 years in advanced nursing practice with training in aromatherapy, wellness, and complementary therapies.
I created Henley Naturals after seeing first-hand the impact that stress, wellbeing, and environment can have on both physical and emotional health. Our approach blends therapeutic essential oils with consciously designed products intended to support everyday rituals of calm, balance, and self-care.
Initiatives include:
Refillable glass bottles
Reusable pumps
Aluminium refill pouches to reduce single-use plastic
Vegan and cruelty-free formulations
Small-batch production
Products designed to be reused rather than discarded
Many of our scents are inspired by the surrounding countryside and river landscapes that make Henley unique.
Founder and owner of Henley NaturalsJonny & Suzy Hobbs
For more than 150 years, Hobbs has been part of life on the River Thames. As custodians of one of Henley’s most iconic riverside businesses, they are actively investing in ways to protect and preserve the river for future generations.
As Managing Director of Hobbs of Henley, I have been a trustee of the Rivertime Boat Trust since its inception, a charity providing accessible river experiences for disabled and disadvantaged adults and children on the Thames. - Jonny Hobbs
I am actively involved in local charitable work within Henley, supporting community wellbeing and mental health initiatives. - Suzy Hobbs
Together, we hope our work reflects a long-term commitment not only to the river itself, but to protecting the wellbeing, accessibility, and community spirit that make Henley special.
Our sustainability initiatives include:
Introducing electric boats onto the Thames to reduce emissions and river pollution
Supporting conversations around protecting the Thames and reducing flooding and pollution in Henley
Investing in quieter, lower-impact boating experiences that reduce environmental disruption on the river
Encouraging slower, experience-led tourism centred around the natural beauty of the Thames
Our commitment reflects a long-term belief that Henley’s future depends on protecting the river that sits at the heart of the town.

Founder of Sika Inns GroupDavid Holliday
The Sika Inns Group, has been built around a philosophy of long-term hospitality, local sourcing, and preserving the character of independent countryside pubs and hotels.
Across the Sika Inns venues, we have focused strongly on working with local suppliers, seasonal produce, and creating destination hospitality experiences that encourage people to slow down and properly experience the surrounding countryside and river communities.
Rather than creating fast-turnover hospitality venues, we focus on restoring and investing in heritage buildings, helping preserve the unique identity and character of the Thames Valley and surrounding countryside.Including:
The Bottle & Glass Inn
The Stag and Huntsman
The Henley Townhouse
Hart Street Tavern
Our sustainability initiatives include:
Working with local producers and suppliers wherever possible
Seasonal menus that reduce unnecessary food miles and celebrate local ingredients
Preserving character buildings and heritage hospitality spaces
Supporting the local Henley economy through independent hospitality and tourism
The Henley Townhouse and Hart Street Tavern reflect the wider group philosophy: thoughtful hospitality that feels connected to the local environment and community rather than disconnected from it.
Why This Collaboration Matters
Join us in helping preserve the river, countryside, and community that make Henley special.
Henley is shaped by the river, the countryside, and the independent businesses that make the town special.
As part of this collaboration, we’re supporting Greener Henley’s Pledge for the Planet - a local initiative encouraging simple actions that help protect the River Thames and the future of Henley.
From refillable products and reducing waste to supporting local suppliers and cleaner boating initiatives, each business involved is committed to playing its part.
If you’re entering The Henley Experience, all we ask is that you take a moment to read the pledge and consider one small action that could help protect the place we all love.
